Who is Reptiscape?
Reptiscape was founded by a couple passionate reptile and amphibian keepers in Calgary Alberta, Canada. Our mission is to provide sustainable, quality, bioactive, natural terrarium décor and supplies that are affordable to all Canadians.
What does Reptiscape do?
We specialize in natural reptile terrarium décor such as our Leaf Litter collection and Rainforest Seed Pod collection.
Animals, like people, require enrichment and stimulus to enrich their minds. By building a naturalistic or bioactive terrarium, you are helping provide that to your beloved pets. Adding new leaf litter, seed pods and other décor in a terrarium helps change things up and keep your animals happy.
What is a Reptiscape?
Our name, Reptiscape, is a play on the words Reptile and Landscape. Our products are intended for users to recreate a landscape for their reptiles (and other animals). Create your very own epic slice of the rainforest complete with fallen leaves, various dried seed pods and other terrarium décor.
How do I use Reptiscape products in my terrarium or aquarium?
Leaf Litter has been very popular within the dart frog hobby. Creating a bioactive, naturalistic terrarium is almost mandatory for dart frog enthusiasts around the world. Leaf litter is essential when keeping isopods and springtails in a bioactive vivarium, as it creates a micro habitat for them to thrive in. Additionally the leaves provide isopods with nutrition as they would naturally eat them in the wild.
Reptiles such as ball python snakes, crested geckos, bearded dragons, leopard geckos, monitor lizards and many others thrive in a naturalistic environment that mimics their wild origins. Every day more reptile keepers around the world are learning how a bioactive, naturalistic terrarium may be a suitable home for their reptile friends.
Many of our natural supplies can be used with various birds such as budgies parakeets and other parrots, as it provides a natural enrichment for their curious minds.
Seed Pods and Leaf Litter may be used in aquariums with fish such as cichlids, discus, or even shrimp. The tannins from the leaves are very beneficial to the overall aquarium water quality.
People keeping invertebrates such as tarantulas, jumping spiders, isopods and springtails love using leaf litter and seed pods from the rainforest to complete a natural environment for their unique pets to thrive in.
